Barton joins APG Signature Events team as manager

APG Signature Events, a new division of the Post Register’s parent company, has welcomed Janet Barton as its Manager of Operations and Planning.

Barton most recently was programs and events manager for the Greater Idaho Falls Chamber of Commerce. She is a 2012 graduate in communications from Brigham Young University-Provo. She’s a 2017 recipient of the chamber’s Distinguished Under 40 award.

An Idaho Falls native, she spent two years working in Provo and Orem, Utah, before returning to Idaho Falls in 2015. She interned in 2011 at the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, D.C.

“Janet fills a vital spot in our new division,” said Roger Plothow, president of APG Signature Events. “We were very fortunate to find someone with Janet’s experience and skills right here in Idaho Falls.”

Barton will help produce a variety of conferences, including the Idaho Healthcare Summit and the Idaho Lands Summit.

She’ll also work on developing new conferences on a variety of topics.

APG Signature Events produces policy-oriented conferences in Idaho and Wyoming, with plans to expand into other western states.
