Jefferson Star moving offices

The Jefferson Star is moving down the street to a new location beginning Wednesday after more than a half-century at its current location.

The Star’s new home is 123 E. Main St., adjacent to Floral Classics and Vogue.

APG Idaho President Roger Plothow and Star General Manager Earlene Poole wanted to make sure the Star retained a location in the heart of downtown Rigby.

“In its 114-year history, the Star has always been an important fixture downtown,” Plothow said. “When the time came to find a new home, there was no alternative but to find a place on Main Street.”

The Star is Jefferson County’s only weekly newspaper. It also operates a website, jefferson starnews.com, and provides a wide variety of advertising and marketing options.

The new office offers ample on-street parking.

Rexburg Motorsports hosts Stuff the Side X Side Food Drive

Rexburg Motorsports is holding its Stuff the Side X Side Food Drive from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday outside Broulim’s in Rexburg at 124 W. Main St.

Rexburg Motorsports is looking for donations of new and unopened food and household items to stuff a Honda Pioneer Side x Side with a half a ton of food, a Rexburg Motorsports news release said.

The Upper Valley Food Pantry seeks donations of the following unexpired items: canned vegetables, canned fruit, cereal, canned soup, canned meat, canned beans, boxed meals, household items, hygiene items and miscellaneous items such as crackers, flour, and noodles.

To donate, stop by the Rexburg Broulim’s during the food drive and place donations in the side-by-side parked outside the store. All donations will be housed in the food bank in Rexburg and be distributed to families in need in the Madison County area.

“We’re always looking for ways to help out the community,” Mike Vickers, owner of Rexburg Motorsports, said in the release. “This seemed like a fun way to accomplish that, and to encourage others to get involved.”

Participants can be entered to qualify on site for the Polaris Express giveaway of a 2018 Polaris PRO RMX Snowmobile by donating one case of food or more at the food drive. You can also enter by visiting the Rexburg Motorsports store, 1178 University Blvd., for an additional entry.
