The Idaho Department of Fish and Game on Wednesday moved a sub-adult male grizzly bear that had been found near an Island Park campground to a remote forest.
The bear was seen near the Mill Creek Campgrounds, and, according to a news release, seemed unusually comfortable around humans.
Fish and Game personnel sedated the bear and took it to the Caribou-Targhee National Forest near Snow Creek Butte. The bear was tagged and fitted with a GPS collar. Department officials hope the bear will be more afraid of humans after its capture, and they plan to track its movements with the collar.
