Pet of the week

Name: Dontae

Gender, age, breed: male, 1-year-old, Heeler mix.

Dontae’s story: Dontae loves people and loves to play. While shelter staff rarely knows the exact genetic makeup of any dog, they make their best guess. They are guessing Dontae is part heeler. Heelers make loyal, fun-loving companion dogs who are high-energy and need an active lifestyle. They do best with experienced owners willing to train them and spend time with them. With all that Dontae will make a devoted and amusing sidekick for a fun-loving family. He already knows his basic commands and is leash-trained. Dontae’s adoption fee is $150 and includes, neutering, micro-chipping and most shots.

You can meet Dontae at the Snake River Animal Shelter, 3000 Lindsey Blvd. Call 208-523-4219.

You can also find adoptable pets at the Idaho Falls Animal Shelter, the Humane Society of the Upper Valley and the Bonneville Humane Society. All of these organizations have photos of their adoptable animals on Facebook and Petfinder.
