Strongly oppose con-con
Received March 8
In recent weeks, I have been hearing much about a push for an Article V Constitutional Convention. I hereby declare my strong opposition to a Con-Con.
The Constitution of the United States is not broken and is entirely adequate for the vital issues of our day. What is broken is the will of most of our elected officials to adhere to the principles of the U.S. Constitution.
One of the concerns put forth by the Article V Constitutional Convention advocates is the lack of a balanced national budget. The U.S. House of Representatives have the constitutional authority to balance the budget starting tomorrow. All they need to do is authorize less spending than our national government income. They control the “purse strings” of our federal government.
