Surge win Bear Lake title

The Idaho Falls Surge 16U softball team won the championship at last weekend’s Bear Lake Tournament in Montpelier. The Surge went 5-0 and outscored their competition 50-5. The capped the tournament with a 5-2, comeback win over Madison in the title game. Hysteria shines in Utah tourney

The Idaho Falls Hysteria 16U team took second place in its division at last weekend’s Wasatch Invitational softball tournament in Heber City, Utah. They went 2-1 on Friday, and then came back through the loser’s bracket on Saturday, reaching the championship game. They went 3-2 on Saturday, and eventually lost to Hard Knox (Utah) 9-1 in the title game. The team dedicated the tournament to Olivia Johnson, an Idaho Falls High School student who died in a car accident Thursday in Shelley. Many of the Hysteria players were teammates of Johnson’s on the Tigers’ varsity softball team. The Ballistic SC U14 girls soccer team took first place in the U15 Gold Division at last weekend’s Yellowstone Cup tournament in Rexburg. The team went 4-0 to claim its age group for the fourth straight year. The Blackhawks Elite beat the Twin Falls Rapids 4-3, FC Nova 7-0 and Nevada Team Elite FC 4-0 before losing to Jackson 4-2 in the championship game.
