Boise State searching for consistency

If not for an uncharacteristic fourth-quarter collapse in the second game, Boise State would be undefeated, likely ranked and in the early conversation about teams that could be in line for a Group of Five bid to one of the big-money bowl games.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Alex Smith saw the Chiefs move up in the first round of April’s draft to select Patrick Mahomes II, and he was keenly aware the organization viewed the young gunslinger out of Texas Tech as the man who’d eventually take his job.

KANSAS CITY, Kan. (AP) — Latif Blessing hoisted the U.S. Open Cup as high as he possibly could, which meant the bottom of the silver trophy just about scraped the ground as he pranced around the field.
